Buzz Shut Out Marlins, 2-0
|
The Buzz faced a stiff challenge from Ft. Myers pitcher Octávio Bernard, but persevered to claim a win at Spirits Stadium. The final score was 2-0. Bernard went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. With the win, Salt Lake City goes to 37-41, while the Marlins fall to 32-46.
Anthony Potter drew 1 walk for Salt Lake City. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Octávio Bernard. It was his 40th walk of the season.
"It's not about individual awards," Potter told a Salt Lake City Daily News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
