Lynx Fell Red Pandas, 7-5

The Calgary Lynx withstood an impressive performance by Sioux Falls first baseman Dave Houston to defeat the Red Pandas, 7-5, at Lynx Stadium. Houston went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Dennis Heath, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1. Calgary is second in the Premier AAA with a record of 13-9.
The Lynx got a big at-bat from designated hitter Pedro Palgon. For the game, Palgon went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Calgary a 7-3 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Calgary manager Steve Duncan.
