Bray, Starks Too Much for Brass
|
The Syracuse Starks beat the Baton Rouge Brass, 7-2, at Stark Stadium. The Starks got a fine performance from second baseman Bob Bray, who went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Syracuse has a 3-game win streak, while Baton Rouge has lost 3 in a row.
Syracuse took a 7-1 lead on Bray's 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Ramón Marte in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Syracuse to the win.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Bray.
