Humpbacks Walk Off with 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Alaskan Humpbacks and the Calgary Lynx, pitcher Carlos Churen was the difference between victory and defeat. The Alaskan right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Humpbacks win. Alaskan reliever Cristo Coronado was the winner. His record is now 1-5. Todd Wallace took the loss. Calgary is 11-8 after the defeat.
The Humpbacks relied on shortstop Darren Gordam for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Oliver Burrell.
