Austin picked up a win at Hot Chickens Park, toppling the Nashville Hot Chickens, 1-0. Pitcher Bernardo Cruz was one of the reasons the Black Mambas triumphed. The winning pitcher was Cruz, now 2-2. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The 8th-place Black Mambas are now 29-38, the Hot Chickens 36-31.
Ron Stevenson hit a run-scoring triple off John McGrath in the top of the fourth, which put the Black Mambas in front, 1-0. Stevenson had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
