Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blitzkrieg
|
The Port Royal Disaster got a sterling performance from pitcher Cory Fisher, but the Port Huron Blitzkrieg still prevailed, 3-1. Fisher threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Wop Letroit, 1-5, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Vicente Arroyo collected save number 5.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Keith Finley came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Port Royal pitcher Amadi Azagba, he hit a first pitch sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Port Huron on top, 3-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Port Huron manager Jack Alexander.
At 15-30, the Blitzkrieg claim last place in the Menard's AAA.
