The Austin Black Mambas beat the Nashville Hot Chickens by a score of 7-3. Austin first baseman Dai-lin Yen deserved the lion's share of the credit. Yen went 2 for 4 with 2 triples and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Black Mambas. Picking up the win was Herman Clayton. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 3. Gijsbert van den Hombergh earned the save for Austin, his 1st of the year.

Austin used the timely hitting of Gustavo Satiro to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Black Mambas ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Yen told the Austin News.

The win puts the Black Mambas at 18-21, while the Hot Chickens drop to 19-20.
