The Calgary Lynx withstood an impressive performance by Syracuse first baseman Bill Strong to defeat the Starks, 8-5, at Lynx Stadium. Strong went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Syracuse falls to 5-6.

Thomas Inge put Calgary in front, 4-0, when he took Bill Strain downtown. His 3-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the first. It was his 1st home run of the season.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Inge.
