Lake Monsters Edge ParksNRec, 2-1
|
Monster Field hosted a real pitchers' duel.
The Vermont Lake Monsters eked out a 2-1 win versus the Pawnee ParksNRec at Monster Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Júlio Perea. He was terrific. Jorge Santos earned the save for Vermont, his 4th of the year.
An impactful at-bat came in the bottom of the second inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the batter, Robbie Riding, reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-1, Vermont, and helped them go on to win.
"We were in it," said Pawnee manager Dave Everett. "We just didn't score enough runs."
Yes, it was a win for Vermont; but their 12-24 mark is nothing to crow about.
