Golden Cranes Win at Vermont, 3-1
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes picked up a win at Monster Field, taking down the Vermont Lake Monsters, 3-1. Starting pitcher Dong-hoon An was a big reason why. Santa Barbara currently is in 4th place in the Menard's AAA at 18-13.
The Lake Monsters had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Golden Cranes going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old shortstop Jeff Austin came to the plate. Austin hit a run-scoring double on a 0-2 splitter from Vermont hurler Júlio Perea. It was Austin's 5th double of the year.
"We take it day by day here," said Austin, "and today was a good one for us."
