Voodoo Topple 84s, 5-3
|
The New Orleans Voodoo topped the Greenville 84s, 5-3, in United States Premier League action at 84s Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of New Orleans pitcher Anthony Coleman. Coleman, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. New Orleans is now 15-12. Greenville is 11-16.
New Orleans used a well-timed hit by Anthony Roosemont to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Anthony is tough when he's hitting his spots," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
