Marlins Fall, 5-4, to Austin, Golden Cranes

The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes knocked off the Ft. Myers Marlins, 5-4, at League Park. Jeff Austin was a big reason Santa Barbara won. The shortstop went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Dong-hoon An. He tossed 100 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The save was credited to Don Williams, his 1st.
The Golden Cranes got a big hit from right fielder Lucas Lerwill. In the top of the sixth, Lerwill smacked a 2-run home run off Ft. Myers pitcher Jed Chandler. It was his 1st home run of the season. Suddenly, the Golden Cranes were ahead, 4-3.
"Both teams played hard," said Santa Barbara manager William Smith.
The win puts Santa Barbara at 4-3.
