Northern Lions BC Defeat Battery, 3-1
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC racked up a win at Charleston Armory, bumping off the Charleston Battery, 3-1. Wulf Hinkamp, who started for Thunder Bay, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Hinkamp, now 1-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. José Cruz got credit for the save for Thunder Bay. It was his 2nd of the year.
Thunder Bay relied on the bat of Tyler Harris to get the win. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Northern Lions BC ahead, 3-0. For the game, Harris had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I have a really good team behind me," Hinkamp said. "I trust them 100 percent."
