Pittsburgh Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
The New Orleans Voodoo beat the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-0, at The Voodoo Lounge. Starting pitcher Anthony Coleman was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The winning pitcher was Coleman, now 3-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Bill Lawrence closed the door for New Orleans, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Tetsu Matsumoto had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for New Orleans. He came through with a solo home run to put New Orleans in front, 2-0.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said New Orleans skipper Chase Sims. "I can't complain."
Pittsburgh has now lost 5 straight.
