Canó Twirls No-Hitter Against Hurricanes Friday, August 8th , 2053 Francisco Canó really did a number on the MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes at MSL Toledo Ballpark today -- and that number was zero. The MSL Toledo Stingers hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Stingers to victory, 5-0. "This is something special," Canó said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look." The right-hander faced only 28 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 10 and walked 1. "We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," MSL Cape Coral manager Ken McDowell said when asked about the epic performance. "Canó was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number." This season-to-date, Canó has fashioned a 6-3 mark and 2.56 ERA in 91.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .193 against him and he has logged 99 strikeouts. View Boxscore View Game Log |
