PMSL Trophy Goes to Gómez of MSL New Orleans Monday, August 18th , 2053 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, MSL New Orleans Voodoo first baseman Domingo Gómez took the USPL Mexican Summer League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Gómez said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 17-year-old first baseman hit .500 (4-for-8) last week with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Gómez is currently batting .331 with 8 home runs, 20 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 52 hits in 157 at-bats. |
