Groenendijk Tags 3 HR Against Dirty Reds Tuesday, May 27th , 2053 Calvin Groenendijk showed off his power today as he launched three balls into the seats against the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds and sparked the Mockingbirds to a 9-1 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I have always liked to hit at MSL Mississippi Ballpark." For the day, Groenendijk collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. "He was instant offense today," MSL Mississippi skipper Jorge Silva said. "Calvin really put on a show." Calvin Groenendijk hit a solo-shot off José Morán in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Morán in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Yao-qing Su in the 7th. So far this season Groenendijk is hitting .237 with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored. He has 9 hits in 38 at-bats and a .293 OBP. |
