Players Suspended in Shockers-Toros Donnybrook Saturday, September 6th , 2053 Jeremy Gutiérrez of Surprise and Rod Mayfield of Tijuana were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. Gutiérrez will have to miss 5 games for his part in the brawl, while Mayfield was given 6 games. League officials announced their suspensions today. Gutiérrez is batting .267 this season in 95 games with 15 home runs, 32 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has 106 hits in 397 at-bats. Mayfield has fashioned a 7-4 mark for the season, 3.69 ERA and thrown 105 innings in 14 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .224 against him. |
