Arturo Piña Named SA-'s Best Player

Arturo Piña took USSL Low A by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 21.
For his spectacular campaign, the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish star has been named the 2053 USSL Low A Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the left fielder.
On the season he compiled a .314 batting average to go with a .385 on-base percentage. The native of Coon Rapids, Minnesota also added 25 doubles, 1 triple, 39 home runs, 96 RBIs and 93 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 10. Larry Anderson of the Northwest Territory Beavers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Ernest Rodgers of the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish finished third.
