Plattsburgh Sweeps SL R Championship
Wednesday, September 10th , 2053
It was a glorious moment for Puffer Fish fans today as Plattsburgh claimed the 2053 SL R Championship title with a 8-2 victory at Plattsburgh Park.
Jubilant Plattsburgh players swamped each other on the diamond after completing a dominant sweep of the North Ft. Myers Gators, as chants of "Thank you, Puffer Fish" reverberated all around the ballpark.
In the losing dugout, sadness reigned. Gators skipper Peter Williams told reporters it was "hard to describe" the feeling of losing in the SL R Championship.
"Your heart is heavy, you are hurting -- it's a very difficult time," he said. "And to be swept is embarrassing. You just want to forget it ever happened."
For the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, it was a season to remember. They finished the regular season with a record of 68-28, good enough for first place in the Silver Low A. Then they topped it off by winning the SL R Championship 2-0.
