3 Boomers for Wills Friday, August 8th , 2053 Fans are still buzzing after Memphis whipped the Redwood Rhinos by the score of 10-9 today at The Zoo. John Wills smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the center fielder bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Wills said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Wills said. "Three is just... wow." John Wills struck out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Angus Galloway in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Shawn Mann in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Salvador Árias in the 9th. Currently Wills is batting .215 with 11 home runs, 39 RBIs and 34 runs scored. |
