Sánchez, Bond Suspended for Fracas
Monday, September 1st , 2053
Yesterday at Ballpark of Baxter Víctor Sánchez and Wayne Bond got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Fort Knox Centennial and Watford City Trash Pandas. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Sánchez will have to sit out 5 while Bond would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
So far this year Sánchez has hit .297 with 18 home runs, 33 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
Looking at his season stats, Bond has won 1 and lost 7, collecting 82 strikeouts and 32 walks in 87.1 innings with a 4.43 ERA.
