Grant Goes Long 3 Times Thursday, August 21st , 2053 Athletic Club KC first baseman Alvin Grant led the U-21 to a 8-3 triumph over the Beaumont Crossbeaus, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Athletic Club KC skipper Wilson López. Indeed, Grant put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 4 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Grant said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Alvin Grant hit a solo-shot off Hidetada Hasegawa in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ron Cox in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ron Cox in the 9th. So far this season Grant has 19 home runs and a .226 batting average. |
