Chon Rockets 3 HR Against Beaumont Friday, July 11th , 2053 Chong-hun Chon went the distance three times in the Fort Knox-Beaumont tilt at Ballpark of Baxter today, but the Centennial lost, 9-8. "Gosh, it's a shame we didn't win this game," Chon said later. For the day, the Fort Knox right fielder went 4-for-5 against Beaumont with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting. "I was in a groove and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a basketball," he said. "I tell you what, I was surprised because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out." Chong-hun Chon singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jose Sánchez in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jose Sánchez in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Lien-ying Cheung in the 9th. Chon is currently batting .250 with 16 home runs and 41 RBIs. |
