Season Ends for Jesús Gamboa of Billings Saturday, August 2nd , 2053 The doctors have spoken and Jesús Gamboa of the Billings Polar Bears didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Gamboa sustained his season-ending injury during the Gulf Coast Turbeaus game yesterday at The Igloo. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Billings medical staff reported Gamboa had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12-13 months. For the season his stats show Gamboa has no saves in 14 relief appearances with a 3-1 record and 6.00 ERA. |
