Silva Torches Pierogis for 5 Hits Sunday, July 27th , 2053 Thanks to Gilberto Silva and his big bat, the Screaming Eagles derailed the Squirrel Hill Pierogis 14-0 today at Mercer Island Grounds. The Mercer Island right fielder had a standout game with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Gilberto Silva singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Balltesar Marmeleira in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Ramón Espinoza in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Ramón Espinoza in the 8th.
