Thursday, October 9th , 2053
He may have less experience than most of his USSL Triple A peers, but that didn't slow David Jones down at all in 2053.
At the age of 24, the Syracuse shortstop has been named the winner of the USSL Triple A Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .263 batting average and a .380 on-base percentage this year. In 95 games he piled up 96 hits, 17 doubles, 5 triples, 15 home runs, 40 RBIs and 62 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 10. Martín Pliego of the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Lenny Hacking of the Sunset District Fog finished third.
