van der Goor Swings for the Cycle Monday, June 23rd , 2053 Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Nando van der Goor's day was a special one. The third baseman hit for the cycle to spark the Baton Rouge Brass to a 5-3 victory over the Hialeah Dodos at Brass Field today. Baton Rouge manager Daniel Edwards said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from van der Goor in particular. "Nando caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it." For the day, van der Goor finished with 3 runs batted in and 1 run scored to go with his 4 hits. Nando van der Goor tripled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jesús Ríos in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. van der Goor is currently batting .316 with 2 home runs and 11 RBIs.
