Rocks Vásquez Lost for Year
Sunday, August 3rd , 2053
Plymouth third baseman Ricardo Vásquez could miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured achilles tendon. He exited yesterday's Port Royal game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Vásquez would be out 4 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
So far this season, Vásquez has recorded a .226 batting average with 53 hits, 8 home runs, 33 RBIs, 29 runs scored and a .316 OBP.
