Thunderbirds Jurgen Helmer Down and Out for Year Wednesday, July 2nd , 2053 Jurgen Helmer has to call it a season. The Hamilton Thunderbirds starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Plymouth Rocks and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Helmer was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn rotator cuff and stated that he would not be able to play for 15 months. Presently Helmer has a 2-2 mark in 0 starts with a 3.86 ERA. He has given up 38 hits in 30.1 innings, struck out 21 and issued 22 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .325 batting average against him. |
