Leviathan End Castejón's Streak
Saturday, September 6th , 2053
The Nova Scotia Leviathan pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting José Castejón hitless in 3 at-bats during the club's 8-3 victory over the Santa Catalina Condor at The Dungeon in Halifax. The disappointing performance ended a 24-game hitting streak for the first baseman.
"I'm a little down right now," Castejón said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
This year Castejón has collected a .316 batting average to date with 128 hits in 405 at-bats, 41 RBIs, 4 home runs and scored 58 times. He has played in 96 games.
