Blaze Triumph in 2053 PL A Championship Thursday, September 11th , 2053 A celebratory mood filled the air as the South Beach Blaze closed out the season with a 3-0 victory over the Lake Erie Arryns at Arryns Ballpark to capture the PL A Championship, 2-1. Giving the Arryns credit for a hard-fought series, Blaze players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned USPL Single A champions. "We felt like this was our year all season long," said right fielder Orlando RodrÃguez, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did." It was the 17th in franchise history. During the Premier A regular season South Beach put up a 66-30 record and finished first. "They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected Lake Erie manager Roy Clay.
