USPL Single A Chooses Premier Player Monday, August 11th , 2053 Columbia starter Werner Payne did it all last week. He was a mighty handy man to have around. Payne made 0 starts and came away with 2 wins. It was a week good enough to be voted the best player in the USPL Single A. Today he was presented the PA Player of the Week trophy. His ledger sheet showed a 2-0 mark and a 0.00 ERA. The batters who faced him hit .333 against Payne. Payne has gone 4-2 this season with an ERA of 0.67 and 26 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched.
