Monroeville Loses CF Miller, Suspended by League Sunday, July 13th , 2053 The agitation was hot and heavy at ACKC Youth Field yesterday. After a called third strike Yinzers center fielder Roger Miller protested the call in no uncertain terms. While he and the home plate umpire were jawing face-to-face, a few bumps took place and Miller was ejected from the game. "It was verbal, nothing more," according to Miller. However, the league frowned on what transpired and suspended him for 3 games. "The league will never tolerate a player touching an umpire in anger," the commissioner said in the suspension notification. Thus far in 2053 Miller is hitting .176 with 4 home runs, 14 RBIs, 8 runs scored and has compiled a .210 OBP. |
