With a 4-1 victory, the Walla Walla Walleye swept aside the Put-In-Bay Commodores 2-0 and set off a much-anticipated celebration. "It was a lot of hard work," said winning manager Calvin Beck. "But it was good hard work and a lot of fun along the way." The Walleye were all business this year, with their eyes fixed squarely on the goal of winning the team's 5th championship. The champs finished the regular season 57-39 and claimed second place in the Silver A. "We had our doubters along the way," series MVP Leonard Sexton said with a smile.
