Stam Wins SA Honor Monday, July 28th , 2053 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Grim Reapers shortstop Kjeld Stam took the USSL Single A by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Stam said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 21-year-old shortstop hit .615 (8-for-13) last week with no home runs, 3 RBIs and no runs scored. This year Stam is hitting at a .267 pace with 5 home runs and 27 RBIs. He has played in 60 games and scored 20 times. |
