Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Tuesday, June 10th , 2053 Yesterday at The Cage Yerson Acevedo and Luis Guevara got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Delmarva Gallos and Grim Reapers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Acevedo will have to sit out 3 while Guevara would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the season Acevedo is currently batting .200 with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs. In 33 games he has reached base at a .215 rate and scored 14 runs to date. This season Guevara has been credited with 2 saves. In 10 relief appearances and 16.1 innings he has a 0-0 won-lost mark, 3.31 ERA and 17 strikeouts |
