In a tight affair between the Long Island Lighthouse and the Toledo Stingers, pitcher Roger Raper was in the zone. The Long Island right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. The 8th-place Lighthouse now have a win-loss record of 44-46.

In the bottom of the second, Bob Giles delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Long Island catcher hit a 2-run single, putting the Lighthouse in front, 2-1.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Toledo skipper TJ Reynolds, "and it cost us."
