Stingers Come Up Short at Long Island, 4-3
Fans watched the Long Island Lighthouse and the Toledo Stingers fight to the finish.

Toledo wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Archie MacMurchy, falling to the Long Island Lighthouse, 4-3. MacMurchy threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Long Island pitcher Christopher Tracy got the win. He's now 5-0. Richello Dosono was tagged with the loss. Imbart Theunen, credited with the save, is now 23 for 24 in save opportunities.

Had Tom Connelly not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Connelly hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Lighthouse.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Connelly.

The 8th-place Lighthouse raised their record to 42-46.
