The Long Island Lighthouse had to overcome a big game from Oakland designated hitter Pineki Walekino to leave The Lighthouse with a victory. And they did, winning 5-4. Walekino was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Roger Raper. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 3. After today's action, Long Island sits at 41-45; Oakland slips to 45-41.
Feitze Lammers, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in doubles with 26, helped out the Long Island cause in the bottom of the first inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Lammers told the Long Island Observer.
