Raucous Cloverdale Legion Park Crowd Propels Knights to 5-3 Victory; Series Tied at 2
|
The Kingston Township Knights and the Panama City Piranhas will take the ToC First Round to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Knights beat the Piranhas 5-3 at Cloverdale Legion Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Kingston Township second baseman António Vega went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times.
Oliver Jordan, the Kingston Township third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 4-3, Knights. For the game, Jordan was 2-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"Every team in baseball loses," Piranhas manager Brian Talamante said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 5th , 2053 at The Tank in Panama City.
