Syracuse Win to Pull Even With Sunset District
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys topped the Sunset District Fog by the score of 7-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the SL AAA Championship today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Syracuse starter Brian Hill, who threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs in the win.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Jorge Gómez to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Hill.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at The Zoo in Syracuse in Syracuse.
