Cattlemen Win Streak Now at 6 After 9-2 Victory
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen stopped the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 9-2, behind an impressive performance from Juan Andrés Martí. The top prospect made life miserable for Vancouver pitching. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The winner was Boris Milatovic, who threw 90 pitches over 7.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for Ft. Worth.
Ft. Worth left fielder Koryusai Ohayashi contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a cutter into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 14th hit of the season and put the Cattlemen ahead, 4-2.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
