Shredders Win at Baltimore, 5-4
|
The Baltimore Bullets got a sterling performance from pitcher Jorge Souza, but the Hollywood Shredders still prevailed, 5-4. Souza threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs. Félix Hernández earned save number 14 this season. The Shredders now have a record of 34-39 with the win over Baltimore.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Paul Roberts came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Baltimore pitcher Yong-zhan Long, he hit a first pitch cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hollywood on top, 5-4.
"Enjoyed this one," Roberts told the Hollywood Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
