Grey Wolves Suffer 7-5 Setback
|
The MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen topped the MSL Vancouver Grey Wolves, 7-5, in USSL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Ft. Worth Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to MSL Ft. Worth pitcher and Delmas, Haiti, native Richard Lacroix. The winner was MSL Ft. Worth reliever Javier Beltrán, now 1-1. The loser was Helge Tehmenev. Norman Ayres closed the door for MSL Ft. Worth, picking up his 7th save of the year.
Dan Hoffman took Helge Tehmenev deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Cattlemen on top, 7-5. In all, Hoffman had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"I had a good game plan," said Lacroix. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Alwin Vreekamp said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
The victory makes MSL Ft. Worth 15-32.
