Lighthouse Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Hurricanes, 4-2
|
The MSL Long Island Lighthouse defeated the MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes, 4-2, in USSL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Cape Coral Ballpark. MSL Long Island pitcher Roberto Ordóñez had a standout performance. Stuart Roobol finished the game for MSL Long Island and earned his 6th save. MSL Cape Coral's current losing streak is now 4 games.
MSL Long Island used the clutch hitting of Spencer Ogle to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Lighthouse the lead, 4-2. For the game, Ogle had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Ordóñez, "and today was a good one for us."
