MSL Long Island beat MSL Seattle on the strength of starter Stefan van der Kieft's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Stuart Roobol earned the save for MSL Long Island, his 4th of the year. MSL Long Island is second in the SL MSL with a record of 14-7.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Tekukuni Aukake came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing MSL Seattle pitcher Juan Cereando, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting MSL Long Island on top, 3-2.
After the game, MSL Long Island manager Austin Case applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
