Stingers Reel Off Another Win
|
The Toledo Stingers picked up a win at Grazing Hills, knocking off the Colorado Billy Goats, 5-1. On the mound for Toledo was left-hander Volmer Aalbers, who played a pivotal role in the win. Aalbers picked up the win for Toledo, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-3. The Stingers improved to 36-30.
Toledo used a well-timed hit by Jim Medrano to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Stingers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds.
