Stingers Top Hurricanes, 4-2

The Toledo Stingers defeated the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 4-2, in United States Silver League action at Pacesetter Park. Toledo pitcher Volmer Aalbers had a standout performance. Aalbers picked up the win for Toledo, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-3. Toledo's record now stands at 33-30, placing them 5th in the Silver League.
The Hurricanes had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Stingers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 12-year veteran Lester Threlfall came to the plate. Threlfall hit a 2-run home run on a full count cutter from Cape Coral hurler Ricardo Ramírez. It was Threlfall's 6th home run of the year.
After the game, Toledo manager TJ Reynolds applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
