Lighthouse Pick Up 3-1 Win Over Ft. Worth
|
The Long Island Lighthouse picked up a win at The Cattle Pen, courtesy of Fernando Lujino. The right-hander helped his team stop the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Lujino, now 3-9. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Earning his 17th save of the year was Imbart Theunen.
Long Island relied on the bat of David Saunders to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lighthouse ahead, 2-1. For the game, Saunders had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
"Every loss stings," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson. "This one is no exception."
After today's action, Long Island sits at 29-34; Ft. Worth slips to 34-29.
